Ingredients
– 500g chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
– 1 tbsp minced ginger
– 2 tbsp minced garlic
– 2 tbsp white wine
– 2 tbsp soy sauce
– 1 tbsp sugar
– 1 tbsp sesame oil (plus 1 tsp for frying)
– 1 tsp chili powder
– 1 tsp salt
– 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
– 1 tsp baking soda
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup cornstarch
Instructions
Step 1: In a bowl, combine chicken, ginger, garlic, wine, soy sauce, sugar, 1 tbsp sesame oil, chilli powder, salt, bouillon powder and baking soda. Marinate for 30 minutes.
Step 2: In another bowl, mix together the flour and cornstarch. Dredge marinated chicken in flour mixture until fully coated.
Step 3: Preheat the oil-free fryer to 360°F. Add 1 tsp sesame oil.
Step 4: Working in batches, add coated chicken to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook 10-15 minutes more until golden brown and crispy.
